Unit 5, Medico Baia Formosa
We work in association with Mediclinic Plettenberg Bay, being their smallest private hospital and the so-called "baby" of the Mediclinic group. The small and personal nature of the hospital makes for a very enjoyable experience with excellent, individualized care and personal attention.
To make your admission process as easy as possible, please visit the reception at the hospital for a pre-admission check in well before your date of admission. Take along your medical aid card and proof of identity. The aim of the pre-admission visit is to open an account, book your bed, sort out most of the paper work, and get authorization from your medical aid for your scheduled surgery. The friendly reception staff will also answer any questions you may have about your admission day.
On the day of your admission there may be some more paper work to complete. This is to confirm your admission and double check your information. If your admission is on the day of your surgery, please arrive at the hospital well before your scheduled procedure as the nursing staff in the ward need to go through quite a long checklist in order for you to be admitted. This is all done to protect your safety during your stay as an in-patient so please bear with us.
Lastly, please remember that if you are to be admitted on the day of your surgery, don't eat or drink anything from the night before.
